  2. First unit replaces the router. Unplug the old router's WiFi (or the whole router): the first mesh unit wires to the modem (or ISP box) and becomes the brain.   3. Satellite placement is the entire art. Place each satellite one to two rooms from the parent (not IN the dead zone, but midway toward it, it needs a decent signal to relay).
